Very unusual restaurant. This was a very weird resturant. They advertised "hickory smoked steaks" but were not a usual steakhouse.

The decor is a little dated and very dark which is a little unappealing to me. A lot of pictures on the walls.

The host was a well dressed older gentleman who seemed very charming. All of the staff are in tuxedo shirts with bowties, but the busser was in hi-top sneakers and shorts.

My waitress seemed nice, but very unsettled and not focused. I asked for a wine list and was told they did not have one. I asked if they had a Pinot Noir and was told that she did not know what that was and that the bartender was not in.

Twice during the meal the waitress placed pitchers of water and tea on my table while she was carrying a tray and then returned to serve them to other tables.

She asked If I was ready to order before I ever received a menu and then handed me a laminate from her apron with short list of items with no descriptions.

After I ordered a small Filet, I was served a basket of pita bread (store bought), a small bowl of tabouli, a small bowl of watery bland hummus, and a plate of vegetables with chunks of ice in it. The tabouli had all of the elements of traditional flavors but was still a bit bland.

Next I was served a cabbage roll which was complete mush and had a wierd cinnamon flavor along with a basket of fried bologna and three smoked ribs (which were surprisingly bland for a "smoke house").

The steak was cooked well and had a nice flavor, however it lacked that crust that is signature for most fine steakhouses. It was served with a lettuce salad with an oil and vinegar dressing that had a wierd mint flavor. It was also accompanied by a baked potato which was merely wrapped in tin foil.

The quality of the food is mediocre. The service is lacking. All tables have pitchers of water on them which signifies that they are too busy to properly serve the customers. I had no explanation about the first 2 courses and was confused why these items were given to me. I found out after inquiry that the owners are lebanese which expains the some of the food selections.

Jamil's has a lot of potential, but needs to reinvent itself to be relevant today.

Icky stuff. I wish I could give it no stars. My husband and I were pretty disgusted with this place by the time we left, due to bad food, bad service, and bad surroundings. This place should be shut down.

Jamil's. My favorite steakhouse in town. I wish they sold strong beer as 3.2 is all they serve--and Miller products only.

Jamil's is not going down hill.... I love Jamil's, the atmosphere is great, the food is better. I've never had a bad experience there at all.

Great steaks. Best steaks in town. I am stuck in Afghanistan and really miss Jamil's. Try the KC Strip or Large Filet. You won't regrate it.

GONE DOWN HILL. IT IS NOT THE PLACE IT USED TO BE. AMBIENCE IS THE SAME BUT QUALITY CONTROL AND SERVICE IS NOT NEAR WHAT IT WAS IN THE EARLY 80'S. A NOTICABLE DIFFERENCE. ONE NIGHT A GOOD CUT AND THE NEXT I FEEL LIKE I ORDERED SOMETHING FROM CHEAP STEAK PLACE.
