I used to work there.. in 2009. (I was
there when you were there Brokentia).. employees is ALWAYS where you get the true "dirt" from on a restaurant.
The "old man" there is the owner.. he is an extrovert.. loves kids.. the "loud a** duck" was Donald Duck, did you not watch TV as a child? Yes.. it DOES scare SOME kids.. but 98% of the people to walk through that front door, both child and adult alike, loved it. He was ALWAYS friendly to his guests, treated all with respect. The soups were always delicious... always made from fresh ingredients daily.. EVERYTHING was fresh daily... soups, salads, and breads... I for one miss the food and "family" there. We NEVER rushed anyone through the line OR out of the restaurant.. We always went table to table before we closed asking if everyone was done, if WE could get them more of anything or if they would like another trip through the line. A few celebrities actually stop in from time to time.. they enjoy the food and the owner. So I have to say that your review is quite off shanna3S.
Salad Alley is fresh and will not disappoint. Their soup rocks! I was just there yesterday and they have amazingly fresh food and get service! You don't want to pass this Alley up!
SALAD ALLEY IS HORRIBLE IN BROKEN ARROW. SALAD ALLEY ON 71ST IN BROKEN ARROW IS HORRIBLE!!!! It cost my wife & I $30 for a 2 for $12.99 special (only salad and soup). We visited this place Friday Aug. 29, 2008 with our 2 boys (a 4 year old & an 8 year old.) Kids under 5 eat for free, our 8 year old was charged $5. All they ate was goldfish, cottage cheese, and pudding. The drinks were $2 each even the kids drinks were that much. The soup tasted aweful. The veggie soup was morel ike pea soup. The chicken tetrazini soup noodles were over done and no chicken hardly in it. The old man there scared my boys when we showed up by talking like a loud azz duck. Dork is more like it. They closed at 8pm but, only gave like 10 min. after 8 to get anything from the salad bar. They were letting people in 5 mins. before 8. That there is a rip off. They should of warned anyone walking in how much time they get to eat for such a large price. This was the resturants 2nd chance for us and it WAS HORRIBLE both times that we visited this place. I don't think it would be worth anyones effort to visit or help this place in any way. Go to Souper Salads on 61st & Memorial which is a little far for us, but it is a little better. They have more of a selection & at least it is a little more kid friendly. You can eat everything there except for the sandwhiches on one price for all you can eat.
