Mimi's Cafe
Used to be good, but.....
My family and I used to love going to Mimi's every couple of weeks. The food was always good, and my son loved the pancakes and sausage at all time's of the day.
Unfortunately the last three visits to Mimi's were entirely mediocre. Let's start with the service; it was horrible. The waitress only visited our table twice, and was totally not friendly. Second, when the food arrived after about 30 minutes of waiting, everyone's food was cold. You would think that if it took that long to make a grilled chiken dinner and a petite filet steak, one or both of them would be hot....not so much. Finally, it took an additional 20 minutes for someone to get our check. It should never take almost two hours for dinner at this restaraunt. At least it never used to!
In short, it used to be good, but it seems like management has gone downhill recently.
Never on a Sunday, but. Never on a Sunday, could not get in without an hour wait, but rush in any other day. My party of five tried a wide varity of entrees and all were equally pleased. Chicken pot pie, flaky and creamy.HUGH bowl of seafood past, delicious to the last bite, battered fish and chips(4 pieces) crispy good, pistachio crusted salmon, moist and flaky, and French brie salad with split pea soup. Unfortually, their supply truck did not arrive until the next day so they were out of liver & onions, and shrimp, but it just gives me an excuse to return
Very slow Kitchen. I love Mimi's restaurants. However the Tulsa restaurant falls below expectations. The food when it arrives is usually very good. I do not think the slow service is due to the wait staff, but a problem with the Kitchen. Sometimes the wait is very long from the time the food is ordered until it is delivered. And if you look around the wait staff is plentiful and attentive but they have nothing to do until the food is prepared. I have drank as many as 4 cups of coffee while waiting for my food. I would like to be a patron of this fine chain, but the Tulsa Restaurant if it cannot improve on the delivery of the food, I will no longer be a customer. Thank you. N. Bond
Atmosphere rules at this French New Orleans-themed spot that serves traditional American fare..
In Short
Decorated like a French country bistro with jazzy New Orleans overtones, Mimi's Café was named after a lost love of Arthur Simms, who started the restaurant in 1978 in Anaheim, Calif., with his family. The ambience could only be upstaged by the menu filled with traditional American favorites. Breakfast includes omelets, waffles, muffins and fresh-squeezed juices, while lunch and dinner feature comfort-food classics like pot pie and pot roast, deli-style sandwiches, burgers, pastas, steaks and salads.
Best carrot raison bread, healthy meal choices, good for quick luches and large groups. If you liked Black Eyed Pea, then you will like Mimmi's. They offer a variety of healthy meal options, such as chicken breast with fruit, fresh salads, and egg sustitutes. Never crowded or noisy. Kid friendly. Decent for quick work lunch. Just do not expect food you would find in expensive restaurants. Comparible to delta cafe' quality or say Charlestons.
