Don't go here. Do not go here....they are unprofessional and over-priced. I have always taken my two Chihuahua's elsewhere, but in the middle of winter my female was pregnant, as was I, and I needed somewhere closer. I took her in for an x-ray ONLY to see how many babies we were expecting....they talked me into this package that would include all her shots and boosters for a year, plus give me 20% off any other services needed. Since she's a small dog and could need help with the pregnancy I agreed. Low and behold, that initial visit was almost $600.00!! The package was only $175.00. They will charge you for ANYTHING! They also gave me a pager number for an emergency since she was due to give birth any day. When she did go into labor there were complications. We began paging the vet around 3 in the morning....no one ever called us back until 6 am. At that point the puppy was dead. Thanks for your help Village Vet. Then I began getting e-mails that it was time for her booster or rabies shot or heart worm medication....and yet every time I went in they wanted to charge me! Isn't this what I prepaid for??? They could never give me a straight answer, I always had to argue....ridiculous. They could never produce any sort of paperwork to show exactly what had been paid for. In addition to this, when you go in, even if you are the only one in there, you will wait forever before anyone acknowledges you. Then you will wait again forever before they take you back. This place is a joke.

Deceived and Disappointed. Deception David D. 1 Village Vet Animal Clinic Pc Very disappointed, we moved here from out of state and just hand picked it from the directory, I did read some negatives but went anyway thinking it was just disgruntled patients being in customer service for over 30 years you get it all. We had rescued a little dog from someone moving and took him in, 1st $150 for an annual exam that turned into over $500 plus 2 days to stay all day for treatment. Then come to find out we were overcharged so the next 2 visits were free, ok can accept that, mistakes sometimes made. We rescued another dog and low and behold, told them she had her rabies but not sure about the other, took her in to be groomed, and guess what another $150 needed and then more charges to be had. We have chosen to get another vet. Very deceptive bait and switch tactics, you call and get a different answer everytime. No communication between the inner office staff at all.

We had another pet scheduled for a procedure but after all this mess, we chose to go elsewhere, when I called to cancel they weren't even concerned, my take on this is that they have more than enough clientele so no need to retain clients.

Don't discuss charges. We had a puppy that we took in to be spayed. Were told that under 40 pounds was cheaper. I was told that it would be $225 to have it done and when I took her in they said that she had to have a heartworm test, and another test to make sure that she didn't have worms because that would affect the anesthesia. I was told this as we were signing her in. Then they charged more for pain control! I asked what they would do if I didn't do it and they said that we could give her benedryl. They did give her rabies shot and follow up distemper combo but we ended up having to come up with well over $400. Seems to me that if you do surgery on an animal the pain control should be included.

very angry and disappointed. My first visit to Village Vet was quite pleasant. However, after that I thought I was in a nightmare. I took my puppy to get shots, a stool analysis and because she had a cough. I never saw the vet, only the technician, my puppy was taken to the back without me. That same night, she started throwing up. She could not even hold water down. I immediately called and wanted to make an appointment. The technician said I don't need to come in, it will all run its course and not to worry. I begged to make an appointment but they flat out refused. After she would not stop throwing up and seemed sad and sick, I took her to another vet. He then diagnosed my dog with coccilosis and kennel cough, both very serious conditions that can be fatal in young small puppies if untreated. Also, she had worms. I then called Village Vet to get my money for the stool analysis back since they obviously did not perform this service. They stated they did the test and I can have store credit. I do not feel comfortable bringing my dog back to this place so I don't want to have credit, but my money back. For all the other services, I do not mind paying, only the one they obviously did not do.

Also, they gave me a heart worm pill that was 4 years expired and when I told them they laughed about it saying "good thing you didn't use it". They could not find a worm pill in the whole place that was not expired. I am so mad and disappointed and can only suggest noone take their pets to this vet.

SAVED MY CATS LIFE!. My review is not at all like the other individuals, mine is quite positive. My black male kitty-cat Louis lost a LOT of weight in a short amount of time, about half his bodyweight by the time I took him in. After many tests, and a 15 day hospital stay, and basically a lifelong prescription, they saved his life. I was SO grateful. He'd contracted Fatty Liver Syndrome, and his liver had nearly shutdown. He was so ill and near death, but they took great care of him and nursed him back to health. I thought I was going to lose him. But everyone at Village Vet helped him and me out greatly, and I'm very appreciative of that. They were nice, thorough and concerned. It was costly, but I would have spent even more. At that time he was 11 years old, and he (and his brother and sister, who I also have) will be turning 13 this year (July 4th, 2008). Louis is still doing well, taking his daily pill REALLY easily, just takes a second now. I guess he knows he has to take it. I can't tell you how pleased I am with Village Vet and their staff. I take all 3 of my cats to them for any care that they might need. The other's names are Lestat and Lacroix. I trust Village Vet completely! Lee
