Food & Dining > El Rio GrandeShady Neighborhood, Excellent Food. Don't be intimidated by the dilapidated strip mall-like housing of El Rio Verde - the food is excellent. The menu is extensive, the waitresses are polite but not intrusive like at Los Cabos, and best of all - the food is not Tex-Mex or Ameri-Mex. This is true Mexican food, and great food at that! What's more, the restaurant is extremely cheap for the amount of food you receive. The inside is a little tacky, just like the outside of the building with its painted-on tacos and burritos as decorations, so don't plan a first date out to this hole-in-the-wall restaurant. But if you are adventurous, be sure to give this family-owned diner a try!
