Awesome Doctor!!

by ilovemyson at Citysearch

I made an appointment with my original doctor (not Dr. Nilson) when I found out I was pregnant for the second time. A week before my appointment I started bleeding and my doctors office wouldn't let me come in early. I was told "Honey, you just need to go check yourself into the emergency room." I called Dr. Nilson's office and they got me in THE SAME DAY! I did end up having a miscarriage and Dr.Nilson did the D&C. He was very through and calmly explained everything to me. He also took the time to explain it was not my fault (which is nice to hear.) I am currently pregnant again and am very proud to say I am going to Dr. Nilson and not Dr.Cox. If anybody is looking for a great doctor that takes his time (did not rush) Dr. Nilson was great for our family!....lets face it-doctors aren't there to have tea and eat cookies with us. They are there to do the best job they can. I have no complaints!

Lets get serious here...

by sareece at Citysearch

I had an extremely high risk pregnancy and was under Dr. Nilsons care. He never took the time to address any of my concerns, I had to practically beg him to put me on something to help stop contractions. He did not do the proper bloodwork or monitoring for my pregnancy. He rushed through apts. At my 6 week check up he didnt even look at my incision, didn't do a pap or pelvic even though I told him I had a knot with pain behind my incision and these ARE necessary after child birth, now I have to find another ob/gyn to look at my incision and do a pap because you apparently can not depend on him to give you what you NEED.

He has a good personality, but he is absolutely no where near the best. I think most people give him good reviews because he gives an u/s at each prenatal apt. and he is very... goofy. If you want someone that you can and SHOULD feel safe with, go elsewhere. I would recommend Dr. Williamson in the same office.

  • Pros: Office staff is great
  • Cons: Rushed, does not listen to concerns

Dr. Nilson Rocks!

by kinzersandel at Citysearch

Dr. Nilson is the best! My husband jokes that I became pregnant again after our first daughter was 2 yrs old b/c I missed my visits with Dr. Nilson!

After a horrible pregnancy/labor with my now 15 yr old, I was more than hesitant to give birth again. A friend recommended Dr. Nilson and we now have a 3 yr old and 1 yr old daughter. He made my pregnancies bearable and most importantly my labors were wonderful and he was in attendance for both!

HE IS THE BEST!

  • Pros: My 3rd child is here because of Dr. Nilson!
  • Cons: He doesn't have a midtown location.
